Harvard Table Tennis Club

est. 1982

We exist to provide Harvard-affiliated individuals with opportunities to play table tennis. We have no attendance policy, and players of all levels are welcome! We do some training, some games, some coaching, some tournaments — a little bit of everything to help build Harvard’s table tennis community.

Getting started is easy. Simply sign up for the club mailing list to stay updated and show up at any of the club’s practices (times and location listed below). A club officer will be present to show you the ropes.

Practice Sessions

Practices are held twice a week during Harvard’s academic semesters. Practices are not held during summer/winter break or on public holidays.

Club
Membership

Players may attend 3 free practices each year prior to becoming a club member. Club members enjoy various privileges such as:

  • Free coaching from former national-level players

  • Exclusive deals on sports apparel

  • Access to the club group chat (GroupMe), where all club-related updates are primarily communicated

  • Eligibility for competition teams

Club membership fees are $10/semester for Harvard undergraduate students and $20/semester for all other Harvard affiliates.

Competitive Play

The Harvard Table Tennis Club is a member of the National Collegiate Table Tennis Association (NCTTA) and participates in NCTTA intercollegiate tournaments. Each year, spots are available in the following competitive teams:

  • Co-ed A Team (4-6 players)

  • Women’s Team (4-6 players)

  • Up to three B Teams (4-5 players each)

Depending on interest, tryouts may be held at the start of the academic year (usually in October). All club members are eligible to participate in tryouts.

Outside of NCTTA tournaments, Harvard’s competition teams also participate in friendly matches with other Boston-area schools throughout the year.
